Four Stars!!!

Woah , this was definitely one heck of a hellish train ride !!

The synopsis/blurb of the story pretty much says what this story is about , so instead of repeating it all over again I'll just move on with this review ..

First of all , I have to say Katie is one awesome writer . The way we are pulled into Cara's world right from page 1 is intense and shicking at the same time . There's a mystery or rather a mystery man stalking Cara all the time . She thinks that she knows who this is , but a tiny voice inside her head tells her that the possibility of that stalker being him is unlikely because he has been taken care of . What is really commendable here is that the reader actually feels all of Cara's insecurities and Paranoia, because of the way Katie has managed to bring it across .Kudos to your writing technique girl !!!

Secondly , I would have to say , the whole time I was reading this book , I actually felt like I was watching a movie . Seriously , I kept on picturing the whole thing in my head and thought to myself , " If this was a movie , I would have binged on pretty hard right now !! " Not that I did'nt I was doing it while reading it tooo ... sorry I think I got deviated there , but the point is that this would make a really good movie . Let me point out the reasons why :

- For starters , It was kind of unpredictable . I mean , you get the idea identity of who this stalker/murderer is , but the story takes too many - like way - too many twists and turns that I probably didn't see coming . I'm really having this itch to mention some of the twists that really had me going bonkers like crazzzzyy .. But I dont want to because those were some of the best portions of the book !!! Read it to find it out for yourself !!

- The characters seemed too real . The good one's ,the bad one's and the twisted one's , I'm pretty sure I could definitely say I certainly know people like these for realz !! Cara , cara was just too heart-breaking to read about . I wanted so many good things for her , but It seemed that all the good things in her life didn't last too long just because of this crazy obsession someone has over her .. And the kind of things she endured through out the book , made me wanted to give her a big bear hug and tell her how awesome she is !!! Sean was swoon worthy . His love and care for Cara really knew no boundries . I think he's every bit of a male companion we girls are a sucker for .. I loved him . And then we have Jake ... Man , that man made me wanna spit on him !! I dont think I've ever hated a villianous character this much . The more and more we found out about him , the more disgusting and a pathetic excuse for a human being i thought him to be .. The things he did , his connection to Cara , the kind of things he said , the extent to which he is ready to get his dirty little paws on her made me wanna go :

Yup , exactly that ^^^...

- One of the my uniquely loved portion of the book was the dream sequences !! Cara's dreams were scary and frightening . They have a certain .... certain ... link to the reality . I really enjoyed those parts !!

On the whole , this truly was an unexpected read for me !! Thank you soo much Katie for giving me a chance to read this . I would recommend it to readers looking for something realistically different and filled with psycho-like twist and turns

Five Stars!!!

“Panic” is a novel by Katie Hughart. This novel has many good qualities which appealed to me even though this is not my type of read or genre. I really did like the author’s style when the story gets more movement and pick up. The blackness which comes to bear in the psycho that is in pursuit of Cara Malone is awaited and needed. The author made our heroine someone who has enough guts to fight but not enough guts to talk to her super crushing friend Sean. Kind of seems weird however, a lot of people are like that! Some people will hide their feelings in the sake of hoping not to get hurt or take the leap into rejection. I wanted to ring Cara’s neck at times and really Sean couldn’t get a clue too?

However, I thought the book was well written, and the end was good. I did think with the way things ended the author could possibly see another book. I really enjoyed this book and it was a good read.

For this and a lot more, I give the author, Katie Hughart’s novel “Panic” 5 stars out of 5.

In the event of Cara's father's death, her life has been turned upside down, and along with it, her family's. She's alone, and her only friends are Vanessa and Sean, the guy she has been in love with since forever, but is too worried about damaging their friendship to pursue anything more.

Unfortunately for Cara, there is a psycho on the lose and he has his eyes set on destroying her. Everyone is trying to protect her, but the only real protection she wants is from Sean, and he is willing to give it. As the killer gets closer, so do they. But Cara doesn't want anyone else to get hurt because of her, so she has a decision to make, and that might mean turning her back on everyone she loves.

I don't want to give too much away here, but I will say this:
This isn't my typical read. The beginning was a little slow for me, and to be honest, I kind of felt thrust into Cara's world. But as the story progresses, so does the writing. I felt like the author really found her foothold, especially toward the end when things got hairy and more sinister. Conflict abounds in this story, and there was a lot of frustration on my part, especially between the couple, because I hate when people don't communicate!

There were also crazy dream sequences that could be a little confusing for me at times, but also equally creepy, which I appreciate. You very much have to read between the lines in most instances, and the meaning is left up to interpretation. I feel like I got a good grasp of it toward the middle/end, though. I also felt like, for a standard length novel, it had a lot going on. It took a lot of unexpected turns and almost felt like mini side stories, but I think they worked overall.

The parts I liked the most, where I feel like the story and the characters really shined, was toward the end. The story takes a dark turn and you get a glimpse inside the mind of the psycho on Cara's trail. The descriptions where riveting and I was solidly in the story at that point, but then it ended! Speaking of endings, I felt this one was good. I felt like it wrapped it up, but also left it open to a sequel, and by this point, I felt like I was pretty engrossed in Sean and Cara's story, so I would like the chance to see where all of this goes.

Overall, I feel that this book was good, and the author has great potential. I look forward to seeing what she comes up with next.

This is a truly excellent book to read. From the moment I began reading it I couldn't stop. I always wanted to know would happen next. The author does a good job of giving the necessary details that I felt connected to the book and could easily relate to the emotions of the characters. The book has a good ending and I felt OK with having to put it down. But I look forward to a sequel and finding out what comes next for Cara and Sean.

This book has a lot going on. It will keep you on your toes. The characters go through so much and it leaves you wishing for the best for some while loathing others. If your looking for a story with a great romance this story has a lot of potential in that department. Cara and Shaun have a great chemistry.

The story for me stayed dark and mysterious, its a really edge of your seat nail biter story.

I look forward to seeing what else this author comes up with.

Although I am not yet finished with the book. I have loved the story so far. I catch myself reading or thinking about reading this book instead of doing my college homework. Definitely a book you should buy and read.

I read this book twice in a row because I loved the poetry that much. It is like taking the veil off of pain so you can look it in the eyes. But at the same time, the author makes it very clear where peace from pain comes from. I truly admire the author for her truthful words. Great read!
